The archaeological sites
Paestum Archaeological Park
The Paestum Archaeological Park is one of the best preserved Greek archaeological complexes in the world.
Don't miss:
- the Temple of Neptune, among the most spectacular Doric temples in existence;
- the Temple of Hera;
- the Temple of Athena;
- the Roman amphitheater;
- the National Archaeological Museum, where the famous one is kept Tomb of the Diver, a unique work of Greek painting.
Founded in the 7th century BC. with the name of Poseidonia, it was subsequently conquered by the Romans.
Velia Archaeological Park
Ancient city of Magna Graecia, known as Elea.
The famous one was born here Eleatic School, founded by Parmenides and Zeno of Elea.
The main attractions are:
- the Pink Gate (first round arch of ancient Greece);
- the acropolis;
- the southern neighborhood;
- the Roman baths.
It is a very suggestive site because it is immersed in the Mediterranean scrub.

Bay of Good Sleep in Palinuro
One of the most famous beaches in Cilento.

Cala degli Infreschi
Considered one of the most beautiful bays in Italy.
It can be reached:
- by boat;
- via a panoramic path.
